OK it had to happen sometime…but I’ve been gettting more creative with the tweed.

My neighbour is Loulah Belle of both Tea & Herringbone and Loulah-Belle Etsy Shop fame – both links are listed in my Friend’s Blogs list. She came up last night avec toffee apple biscuits and gave me a tutorial on how to make a patchwork scarf.

I’m not very experienced with a sewing machine (only been on a handful of times actually) but Loulah forced me to do all of it from start to finish which was very empowering. Wanna see what I made?

My patchwork tweed scarf.

I love the orange and green colours in particular – in fact it looks even better in real life, I don’t think the photo does it justice at all. So OK I’m biased. In case you think it looks a little familiar then actually alot of these fabrics are what I sent to Abby (BubsBears) to make Reuben from. I’ve backed it with fleece – so it’s lovely and warm – and stays in whatever position you place it around your neck! I wore it to work today – and lots of people commented how much they loved it. I should start taking orders ;-)

Loulah Belle and I have toyed with the idea of doing a craft /vintage fair together – I think these would go down very well. She’s much more talented than me but I’m going to have a go at making some more with vintage images too.

Check out this bag that she made out of tweed and has listed in her shop. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39048949

Let me know what you think to both of them x
