Time goes by so fast sometimes – I can’t believe we are already in the 4th week of July – and it seems an age since I’ve blogged!!

Life has been so busy – and many many things have taken over both of our lives recently. Obviously this includes the huge move and subsequent sort, but I’ve also applied for a job and had an interview (sadly, I didn’t get it) – had a serious health worry (after tests and hospital visits it appears to be fine!) and my teaching job has also been hectic (gathering folders for marking and verifying – as well as planning for September – writing course reports – and organising and hosting an open day within the college). They are just three things amongst many others – but, here I am, to say hello and to have a little nosey at what you’ve all been up to in my absence.

We’ve been in the house for 7 weeks now, and yet it seems like we’ve always been here! Isn’t that strange! The house is slowly taking shape but there are still tons of boxes in the attic room – and the spare bedroom, despite having a bed for guests, has yet to fully take shape in the way I’d like it to. The rest, however, is now ‘homely’ and was the perfect venue for our house warming soiree last Saturday evening. Want to see some piccies of where we’re up to?

What do you think? We’re so happy here – and can’t believe we have found somewhere so beautiful, so quiet, so light and so spacious – and all in the countryside too! One of our dearest friends lives next door too – so that’s been fantastic for spontaneous bottles of wine, nibbles and late night chats!

We’ve not booked to go away anywhere this summer – however, we still feel in some ways that we are on holiday here – and that at some point we’ll have to pack up and hand back in the keys! There’s still lots to do and sort – and the honeymoon period is still very much present – so I think we’re going to stay here instead, organise some day trips to ruined castles – catch up with friends – and host various guests in the new pad!
