Hi my name is Al and I live in England. A musician and teacher by day…and indeed evening, I love spending my spare time exploring second hand markets, antique centres, flea-markets and other equally sentimental environments full of nostalgia, history, photographs and memories…

I come from and live in a very creative and musical household – both myself and my partner have many artistic outlets – although card making has become a fairly new hobby of mine, which started due to wanting to utlise and celebrate my love of old photographs and the stories they hold…

My handmade card creations use original, although mostly Victorian, images which I enhance using 21st century technology. Every card is unique with images on both the front and reverse, individualised by hand-stamped lettering. Each card can be custom made to order with lettering of your choice – and choice of envelope colour if preferred. See the link on my homepage to check out my Etsy site.

  1. Love love the blog! It’s slightly mysterious and makes me feel like I am really having a peek into your life. Many blogs don’t feel that way. I particularly loved the “To Market” post- I hope you keep sharing your finds!

  2. Hi Al,
Yes, I’d be happy to send you a scan of the fish postcard. If you click on my profile, there’s an option to send me an email. I’ll reply and attach it.

  3. Hi, Alan,

I hope everything’s ok? Your blog has been silent for a while now…

I couldn’t find your e-mail anywhere, so I will leave this info as a comment:

I just wanted to let you know that we have nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award. For more information on what it is and how it works (I didn’t know anything about it, before we “got” it), please visit our blog:

Hope you will have fun participating.

    Kind Regards,
    Kristina x
