New York has become the latest US state to legalise same-sex marriage. About time too.
It seems strange that, here in the 21st century, there is still so much homophobia… hatred… misunderstanding… hypocrisy… demonisation…(call it what you will) within the human race!
Is there not enough war, bloodshed, persecution and evil in the world already?
What is so wrong with allowing two people, not only the right to equality, but also the right to legally marry, legally declare their love and legally spend the rest of their lives together?
Well done New York! Now go and propose…

Well, things are going in the right direction but there will always be opposition. Two many folks with a God and Bible mentality…. and their own interpretation.

The irony is – that if Jesus really existed, he was persecuted just for being who he was – just like gay people are really! As another placard said during this counter-protest – “Jesus hung out with 12 guys and a prostitute – so he’s more like US than he is like YOU!” I was brought up catholic – I don’t go to church anymore, but I still have my own beliefs of sorts. Surely hating and victimising other people is against ALL beliefs? …yet it all happens in the name of religion! Ironic!

Sadly not, though we did go to a castle yesterday which we found out is hireable for civil weddings ;-) Shame it was SOOOOO expensive, otherwise we may have been tempted! I’ll be posting about it later x

Love the “married longer than Britany” placard! Perfect! My (ex) brother-in-law and his partner have lasted longer than my marriage to his brother. They’ve been together for 31 years and still going strong — longer than many other hetero-marriages I know. Love is love. How does the marriage of someone else and who they chose to marry affect anyone else? This should be a non-issue.

Totally agree, Al. The world definitely needs more love, compassion and tolerance.
