Well, I did this post first back in February where I shared 6 lovely finds on Etsy. I had mentioned about doing it again sometime – and I thought it was time – so here I go…
First up are these vintage camelhair wool spats! Which you can find here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/dashandbag – described by the seller as perfect for the dusty back-streets of 1920’s Morocco. For wearing with johdpurs and aviator helmets. For taking tea with cucumber sandwiches on high desert dunes. For the Great Gatsby on safari.
I love them! I want a pair! I also promise to wear them!
Second up is this gorgeous leather wallet. I have watched this from afar for two years now! Described as handcrafted from rich whiskey brown leather with double-needle top-stitching detail, this wallet fastens with a big antique skeleton key passed through a cut leather tab. It’s so classy…and can be found here http://www.etsy.com/shop/urbanheirlooms – one day I will have one!
Next up is this handmade, macrame-style-lace crown in a grapevine motif, fit for a Renaissance King! I don’t know what it is about this that I love – maybe it’s the listing photograph which has such a timeless Shakespearian feel about it – but I have this in my favourites and keep returning to it ever so oft. I don’t think it will go wth my spats necessarily – but on top of one of my composer busts…maybe!? You can find it for sale here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Upstage13
Now this is definitely someting on my lists of wants! – a man’s work shirt re-purposed into a one of a kind modern scarf. I think this looks so classy – and after I’ve lost a few pounds (or make that stone!) this will look lovely in the summer with a plain white T-Shirt me-thinks! – oh..and of course me spats! Teehee. You can find it here: (but don’t even think about buying it people LOL!!) http://www.etsy.com/shop/cutandsewn
Next up is this unusual vintage silver serving bowl lid turned into a wind chime using antique knives, forks and spoons! I have a wonderulf bracelet made out of an old antique fork which was made before my very eyes at Covent Garden in London about 5 years ago which reminds me of this. I think this would look lovely hanging over the window in an old country cottage kitchen! You can find this – and other equally interesting chimes here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/teatimewindchimes
Finally this bracelet by: http://www.etsy.com/shop/StoriesDivinations – this shop was one that I found when I first joined Etsy as a non-seller over two years ago. I love their jewellery in particular, although she has now progressed into other wares and categories too. What I also love about their shop is that if you write a story about true love – or a story inspired by one of their pieces they give you 20% off the order! How fantastic is that! Described as a one of a kind bracelet with vintage images and art history windows embedded in thick glassy cabochons strung together with oxidized sterling rings. It’s a short story for your wrist.
How charming! The one I liked of theirs in particular sold a while back – but I always return now and again to see what else is happening in their shop. I’m never disappointed.
So there you have it – 6 Etsy finds – with less variety than before admittedly – but with more of a male spin. Something quite rare, I always think, on Etsy. I hope you like them as much as me ;-) Until the next time…adieu x
